1. Finding baby poop under your fingernails.
2. Finding baby poop on your clothing.
3. Going out into public, and then finding baby food in your hair.
4. Being able to hear your baby poop across the room.
5. Learning how to do everything with one hand.
6. Learning how to do everything with your non-dominant hand.
7. Listening to your husband and talking to your baby at the exact same time.
8. Forgetting your child's name.... Yes, I've called her my best friend's child's name... A few times...
9. Even though everyone else thinks that your child is an exact replica of you, you think she is an exact replica of your husband.
10. Seeing your father's goofy expressions on her face.
11. Seeing yourself in her expressions.
12. Seeing a sense of wonder in her eyes at the smallest, sweetest things.
13. Actually enjoying Peek-A-Boo.
14. Having fun playing with dolls again.
15. Going an entire week without leaving your house. ...Wait, that's not funny at all...
16. Getting to a point where anything not out of a box feels gourmet!
17. Finding yourself looking forward to the next episode of Bubble Guppies.
18. Finding yourself looking forward to the next episode of Sesame Street.
19. Realizing you know every word to every song on Sesame Street.
20. ...And singing them to yourself all day long...
21. Realizing you haven't talked to another adult, besides your husband, in ...days? ...weeks?
22. Eating baby food for a snack.
23. Kissing those tiny feet again and again, wishing they wouldn't grow bigger.
24. Hearing your toddler say, "uhn-uh" back to you...
25. Hearing your mother's tone in your voice.
26. Cooing back to your baby and realizing she has your voice.
27. Memorizing all of her books, so I can read them to her when she has them upside down.
28. Singing "Jesus Loves Me" 14,000 times a day.
29. Singing "Twinkle, Twinkle" 14,000 times a day. Every day.
30. Holding your child close, just praying that some day she can do the same.
The sweetest moment of motherhood is when my toddler comes running at me, arms wide open, laughing, wanting a hug or a dance!!!!! No one has ever been so excited to see me, day in and day out. =) That is Unconditional Love.
All soo true! Especially number 25, 22, 27 in our house LOL. And of course 30! Love them while they are little and cherish these moments!!
